Decision Fatigue Is Why You Cant Succeed

Have you ever heard the term “decision fatigue”?
Decision fatigue is simple…
Throughout each day we are constantly making choices and decisions…
Choices and decisions such as:
White shoes or red shoes?
This shirt or that shirt?
This purse or that?
This road to work or that?
This meal or this meal?
This snack or skip?
Eat this donut or stay on diet?
What time you need to leave work?
I could list out another 2000+ decisions you make but that gives you a basic idea.
Now within these decisions and choices, we only have so much WILL POWER as well as only SO MUCH ENERGY for decisions…
Looking back above, we’ve got 8 choices/decisions I said…
Now imagine, you start each day at 100% power (just like your phone)
But every decision and choice, no matter how big or small (white shoes or red shoes? Buy this house or this house?) requires you to use your ENERGY and WILL POWER.
Now again, we start at 100% but we’ve just made 8 choices, while these choices may seem small, they still ding your energy and willpower.
So you’ve made the choice on the 8 decision above, after making those choices you now only have 75% of your energy and willpower left (until refilled or replenished).
**** How do you replenish or fulfill your ENERGY AND WILLPOWER BAR?
By taking a MENTAL BREAK/ or a specific time period of no decisions or minimal decision making (such as enjoying a movie for 2 hours or having a fun and entertaining lunch with a friend)
If you didn’t know about this, or don’t know how to replenish your energy and will power – then almost 100% YOU’RE NOT DOING IT.
And because you’re not doing it – means you’re results are lacking and why you feel you cant succeed.
So here you are – only 8 decisions into your day and already drained 25% of your ENERGY and WILL POWER..
Imagine, everything else you have to choose and decide continuing this trend of taking your energy and will power until your at the middle (if you can replenish) or end of day where you have what feels like nothing left…. Because you truly don’t have anything left…
All your WILL POWER AND ENERGY have been used….
So why am I telling you this or explaining it?
Because for you to succeed you must make optimal or ideal choices.
These ideal choices require MORE ENERGY AND WILL POWER than regular basic decisions (that are more of a habit now)…
We’ve all been there… Knowing you need to eat the chicken breast and veggies but go with pizza or Chinese food….
WHY??
Because you didn’t have enough ENERGY OR WILL POWER.
So heres how you correct it…..
MAKE YOUR IMPORTANT DECISIONS AND CHOICES FIRST.
MINIMIZE “OTHER” DECISIONS AND CHOICES THAT AREN’T IMPORTANT.
Bill Gates (Microsoft)  and Mark Zuckerberg (FB) wear nearly the same clothing every day…
Why?
Because it removes decisions from their daily actions – in turn leaving them more energy for IMPORTANT DECISIONS (You don’t create the best products or most used items by making shitty decisions).
HOW DO YOU MAKE IMPORTANT DECISIONS FIRST OR MIMIZE OTHER CHOICES:
First ask yourself – what choices do you need to be making BETTER that will give you you’re ideal goal? If your results are held back because of what you eat, this means you need MORE ENERGY AND MORE WILLPOWER GIVEN TO THESE.
So instead of starting my day with what outfit and shoes I’m wearing + which route to work I’m driving, I may wakeup and spend the first 5 minutes of my day MAKING DECISIONS ABOUT MY FOOD AND getting myself setup for success…
Now THIS ONE DECISION OR CHOICE may take 25% of your energy… BUT THATS OK… Because you have it..
See you made the decision when you were fresh (100%) this one decision is massive, taking 25% of your energy and will power… But luckily you still have 75% of your energy to now give to all the other stuff thats not important or doesn’t lead to bad choices that have negative impacts…
However, had I done the first 8 + my day of activities, and then came to lunch, snack, dinner – and running on only 15% ENERGY AND WILLPOWER I don’t have enough to do the right thing.
