“F the Scale”

Your goal does NOT have to be (nor should it be) based on a # on the scale – #fuckthescale

In the left photo, taken when I was in the middle of a cutting phase, I am 122 lbs and 14% bodyfat. At this point, I could deadlift 95 pounds for 10 reps and it was heavy ๐Ÿ˜(my max was 145) I could bust out some pull ups tho ayyyy ๐Ÿ˜

In the right photo, more current physique, in the middle of a building phase, I am 138 lbs and 20% body fat. I can deadlift 145 pounds for 10 reps- havenโ€™t tested my new max yet but hoping for close to 200 lbs and based off my calculations I should be around there ๐Ÿค“

In the past 7 days I weighed in at 141, 138, and 139 lbs. (I normally only weigh once a week I literally weighed on MWF to make a point lol). I am 5โ€™ 6โ€ and before I began my fitness journey I believed my โ€œgoal weightโ€ (based on nothing? VS models maybe?) should be 100 lbs. This was once I was starting on the road to recovery from my eating disorders! The smallest I was when I was at my unhealthiest was 89 pounds ๐Ÿ˜ฉ.

I used to weigh myself EVERY FUCKING DAY, and I allowed the number on the scale to literally dictate my mood, my behavior, how much food I ate, and how many hours (yes literally hours) of excercise (cardio and abs ๐Ÿ™„) I did that day.

I could be on a high from being so on point with my 800-1000 calorie diet and hours of exercise, but if the number on the scale didnโ€™t reflect what I thought it should, I put myself down SO much- restricted food, added cardio. I let myself believe progress was determined by my weight. THIS IS NOT OK. If you can currently relate to this, please, please listen. The scale alone can NOT, can NEVER, accurately track PROGRESS or MEASURE YOUR HEALTH. Your weight can fluctuate up or down 5 pounds in one day depending on when you last went to the bathroom, food and water intake, stress levels, time of the month for females, etc. I weigh more NOW than ever in my life and Iโ€™m sorry but not sorry my body is more banging than ever ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ”ฅ and my body composition shows Iโ€™m healthy and STRONG okurrrrrrt!

The scale literally tells you nothing more than your gravitational pull on planet Earth ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿฝ THAT IS IT

YOU are SO much more than a number on a clothing tag or a scale yโ€™all โ™ฅ๏ธโ™ฅ๏ธโ™ฅ๏ธ Focus on HEALTH – track your food, eat your nutrient dense foods, track your body measurements, take progress photos, track your strength and endurance with your workouts – hell track how fast and easily you can take your dog for a long walk. Literally track anything other than just the # on the scale. Just throw the damn thing away actually lol ๐Ÿ˜†
