Maybe you should just throw your bathroom scale away!

Your goal does NOT have to be (nor should it be) based on a # on the scale – #fuckthescale

I usually don’t like to share my weight and caloric intake because too often people think that they need to weigh what I weigh and/or eat what I eat to reach their goals, but that couldn’t be more wrong.  Weight varies SO much depending on the individuals metabolism, goals, muscle mass, height, stress, food/water intake, etc.  I am 5’ 6”, lift heavy weights 5-6 days /week, do cardio ONE day a week (yes only ONE day of 30 mins of cardio), and eat an average of 2300 calories per day. Yes, 2300 calories per day to maintain 18% body fat which is my maintenance for everyday living 🙂 Don’t be scared to EAT!!! In the past 7 days I weighed in at 136, 134, and 129 lbs. (I normally only weigh once a week but I literally weighed on MWF last week to make a point lol). Before I began my fitness journey I believed my “goal weight” (based on nothing? VS models maybe?) should be 100 lbs. This was once I was starting on the road to recovery from my eating disorders! The smallest I was when I was at my unhealthiest was 89 pounds.

I used to weigh myself EVERY FUCKING DAY, and I allowed the number on the scale to literally dictate my mood, my behavior, how much food I ate, and how many hours (yes literally hours) of exercise (cardio and abs) I did that day.

I could be on a high from being so on point with my 800-1000 calorie diet and hours of exercise, but if the number on the scale didn’t reflect what I thought it should, I put myself down SO much- restricted food, added cardio. I let myself believe progress was determined by my weight. THIS IS NOT OK. If you can currently relate to this, please, please listen. The scale alone can NOT, can NEVER, accurately track PROGRESS or MEASURE YOUR HEALTH. Your weight can fluctuate up or down 5 pounds in one day depending on when you last went to the bathroom, food and water intake, stress levels, time of the month for females, etc. I weigh more NOW than ever in my life and I’m sorry but not sorry my body is more banging than ever and my body composition shows I’m healthy and STRONG okurrrrrrt!

The scale literally tells you nothing more than your gravitational pull on planet Earth

🏽 THAT IS IT 🤷🏼‍♀️

YOU are SO much more than a number on a clothing tag or a scale y’all ♥️♥️♥️ Focus on HEALTH – track your food, eat your nutrient dense foods, track your body measurements, take progress photos, track your strength and endurance with your workouts – hell track how fast and easily you can take your dog for a long walk. Literally track anything other than just the # on the scale. Just throw the damn thing away actually lol
